Looking for an excuse to get away? We’ve found one!
Garden Expeditions begins its inaugural tour to Cuba this Saturday and from the sound of it, the experience is sure to be breathtaking. The Gardens, Conservation & Culture tour runs until February 11 and features many Cuban highlights, including a visit to the National Botanical Gardens of Havana and a boat ride through caves in the Viñales valley.
As if that weren’t enough, there’s booze included. One of the planned activities is a visit to a local rum factory, where you witness everything from the sugarcane to the finished product, as you take part in a rum sampling.
While this is their first tour in Cuba, Garden Expeditions has been offering small custom group tours since 2015.
“We’re so excited to be one of the first, if not the first U.S. garden tour company to visit Cuba. The island is on the brink of huge change, so it’s a fascinating time for Garden Expeditions’ travelers to experience the island’s’ unique botanical diversity. Our customized tour will give guests a fun and insightful glimpse into Cuban culture,” Garden Expeditions co-founder, Terry Sajewski said.
Sajewski couldn’t be more correct when he talks about the changes the island is going through and Garden Expeditions’ first inaugural tour is just further proof that traveling to Cuba is becoming a worldwide phenomenon.
Cuba is reported to have attracted 4 million visitors in 2016, which is a 13% increase from 2015.
While mojitos may always be in style in America, people are now traveling to Cuba to experience the food, drink and culture firsthand.
What are you waiting for? Start packing your bags and book your trip today because Cuba is bound to be the hot tropical destination this year.
